Through a short text study of the Mei Hashiloach, the Ishbitzer Rebbe, we will look at how this 19th century rabbi understood the land of Israel beyond geography, and the possibilities he presents for new, alternative interpretations of home(land) as inner landscape. To what degrees was he opposing nationalism and Zionism in his writing? And how might this be relevant for us today?
