Resisting the Far Right in India : Islamophobia, Citizenship and Belonging
Join us for an evening panel discussion on religious minority rights, Islamophobia, citizenship and belonging in contemporary India.
The discussion will explore the rise of religious persecution, majoritarian politics and communalism in India, whilst also reflecting on the role students, activists, academics and diaspora communities can play in resisting the far-right and defending minority rights. Following the panel, there will be an audience Q&A.
Speakers include Dr Shabnum Tejani (SOAS), Dr Megha Kashyap, Mohammed Owais (UKIMC), Clifton D’Rozario (All India Lawyers’ Association for Justice), and Sajjad Hassan (South Asia Justice Campaign).
