This October, we're spotlighting four films that tell Black stories from Mali to London to the American suburbs. Some are tender, some are angry, and one will make you check the locks. (Film 1/4)
Bamako (2006)
Abderrahmane Sissako sets a trial of the World Bank and the IMF in a family courtyard in Mali's capital, with daily life carrying on around it. It's a quiet, sharp look at debt and power.
